Position Title: Equine Breeding Manager

Location: Texas, United States of America

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Breeding Manager to oversee our breeding operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equine reproduction, genetics, and herd management. This role involves managing all aspects of the breeding program, from planning and execution to monitoring and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor health, reproductive cycles, feeding, well-being of breeding stock and foals, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Oversee insemination, pregnancies and births.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and performance, breeding activities, pedigrees and health histories.
  • Ensure cleanliness, pest control and ventilation
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, geneticists, and other specialists to optimize breeding outcomes.
  • Establish policies and procedures for the breeding program
  • Conduct research and data mining to improve breeding and farrowing functions
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in equine reproduction and breeding techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Extensive experience in equine breeding and reproductive management.
  • Strong knowledge of equine genetics, reproductive technologies, and herd management.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical breeding practices.
Benefits:

  • Base Salary. Employee shall receive an annual salary of 60,000 to $70,000.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Vacation. Employee shall be entitled to 2 weeks of paid vacation during each year of his/her employment under this Agreement.
